A young child throws a paste comprised of water and talcum powder at a moving tuk-tuk during Songkran.

Traditionally, this thick white paste is spread gently on a person's face or neck as a symbol to protect from evil spirits. For Songkran these days, it seems the evil spirits are the ones in possession of the white paste as seen in the photo above ;-). In reality, it is quite acceptable nowadays to hurl the paste at strangers although more often than not, it is still smeared across a person's face as you see on the boy in the photo.

A young Thai boy cocks his arm with a hand full of talcum powder paste.

Is it just me or does this little guy remind you of one of the Angry Birds (the mobile phone game) also. And equally violent to boot!
