A pair of wrestlers prepare to commence their Ssireum bout (ARCHIVED PHOTO on the weekends - originally photographed 2009/09/18).

A traditional sport of Korea, Ssireum dates back hundreds and hundreds of years and is quite similar to the more well-known sumo wrestling sans visibly dimpled buttocks.

The goal, much like sumo wrestling, is to knock the opponent to the ground. Matches can last seconds or drag on for the time limit, which I believe is something close to 5 minutes.
