A user-controlled magnifying glass augments portions of the Rama VIII park in Bangkok (Adobe Flash Required).

Man alive! It took me ages to figure this little bit of Flash trickery out but finally discovered the secret sauce at the 11th hour. Hint: I forgot to carry the 1 in my actionscript calculations!!!

I'd originally intended the image to be destined for faux tilt-shift effect but there was something I rather enjoyed about the voyeuristic quality, being able to peer into random people's lives around the park. Now that I have this Flash effect fully in my arsenal, I'll be sure to do more with it in the future... especially because it took so long to tame!!!

Could you reduce the distortion around the edge of the magnifying glass? It's tripping me the fk out man. (Well, either that or make the magnifying glass bigger.)

Yeah, that is a lot of distortion... I'll try to fix that the next time I work on an image w/ this effect. I don't even wanna look at this one anymore b/c it took me so long to figure out the kinks!
