A boatman deftly steers through the hordes of vegetable-mongers at the floating market.

I wish I could remember this driver's name in order to pass it along. He's 60 years old and still working his pants off at such a physically demanding job, all this in spite of his pack-a-day habit. In addition, he's one of the only boatmen on the boulevard that didn't nag us on our daily walks which is a common problem in a touristy area where its tourists have fled.

Floating through the vegetable market on Dal Lake.

Relaxing in a covered boat while a driver steers us clear of danger. Why didn't we do this before?

To arrive at the floating market at the correct time, we departed our hotel 4:30am. And yes, it's worth sleeping only 4 hours in order to see the floating vegetable market... three times!
