One sign in a series of signs in the tunnels of the New York City subway system (ARCHIVED PHOTO on the weekends - originally photographed 2006/08/06).

The signs, in sum, add up to a poem by Norman Colp called "The Commuter's Lament".

Overslept,
So Tired.
If Late,
Get Fired.
Why Bother?
Why the Pain?
Just Go Home.
Do It Again.

I can relate to the feeling of despair of all those morning commuters that read this on a daily basis. There must be better ways to live life, no?

See here from the horse's mouth.
