One of the more unique products to emerge from the Netherlands, the Carver One is a combination car and motorcycle that can reach speeds of up to 115 mph (185 km/h). As you can see in these photos, what sets it apart was its ability to lean into turns and have your weight always press directly down onto the seat as the transportation gods intended. If you were born before the advent of bucket seats, you know the feeling of sliding uncontrollably in the rear seat if you wore your tight polyester slacks. Motorcycle-like leaning turns prevent the embarrassment and awkwardness of accidentally sliding onto your unmarried uncle Rico's lap.

From what I've gathered, the company that manufactures the Carver One has declared bankruptcy as of 2009. I suppose it makes sense. If you're a perpetual loner, like uncle Rico, a one seat vehicle makes sense. However, most people in the world tend to marry, generally out of the fear of dying alone, hence a single seater simply isn't practical.

This is not a one seater vehicle. There is another seat in tandem behind the driver's seat- though the Carver company declared bankruptcy, the members of the company are working with Persu Automobiles to build a similar but more updated and aerodynamic vehicle in the U.S. It really is quite a cool car
