A Chao Phraya river boat taxi plies the water in the early morning.

Some of the fastest means of public transportation in Bangkok are the canal and river boats. On this morning, I'd just arrived from an overnight train from Laos where I was obtaining a new visa at the Thai embassy in Vientiane.
